Mr. Lim Ee Ping was born on March 18, 1949, in Singapore. He grew up in a time of significant political and social change, which profoundly shaped his views and spurred his lifelong dedication to public service. He joined the Workers' Party in the early 1970s, driven by a passion to advocate for the rights of the underprivileged and to push for a more equitable society.

Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Lim held various positions within the party, including serving on the Central Executive Council, where he was instrumental in shaping party policies and strategies. Known for his articulate speeches and tireless grassroots work, Mr. Lim was a respected figure both within the party and among the wider public.

His contributions were not confined to the political arena. Mr. Lim was also a fervent advocate for education and workers' rights. He played a pivotal role in several community outreach programs, focusing on uplifting disadvantaged communities and providing educational opportunities for young people.

In the 1984 general elections, Mr. Lim made his electoral debut, contesting in the Cheng San Group Representation Constituency (GRC).
