Obituary of Edward L. Drone  and his life  Impact and Inspiration

( Life Journey of Edward L. Drone )

Edward L. Drone was born on August 2, 1958, in Springfield, Illinois. From a young age, Edward displayed a natural curiosity and a passion for learning, traits that would later define his career and life.

He pursued his higher education at Illinois State University, where he earned a degree in Education. Shortly after graduation, Edward began his teaching career at Springfield High School, where he taught history and social studies for over three decades. His engaging teaching style and dedication to his students earned him the respect and admiration of both colleagues and pupils. Edward believed in the power of education to transform lives, and he worked tirelessly to ensure that his students not only learned the curriculum but also developed critical thinking skills and a love for learning.

Outside of the classroom, Edward was a devoted family man. He married his college sweetheart, Linda, in 1982, and together they built a loving home. Edward and Linda were blessed with two children, Michael and Sarah, whom they raised with the same values of kindness, curiosity, and perseverance that Edward lived by. Edward was an active participant in his children's lives, coaching their soccer teams, helping with school projects, and instilling in them a love for reading and learning.

Edward’s love for his family extended to his three grandchildren, whom he adored and spent as much time with as possible. He was often found reading stories, playing games, and sharing his knowledge and experiences with them.

In addition to his professional and family life, Edward was an active member of the Springfield community. He volunteered at local shelters, participated in community events, and was a long-time member of the Springfield Community Church, where he often led educational programs and youth groups.

Edward had a love for travel and history, which took him and his family on numerous adventures around the world. These trips not only enriched his life but also provided countless stories and experiences that he shared with his students and loved ones
