 Juanita Carter, beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 26, 2024, at the age of 78. Born on June 12, 1945, Juanita lived a life filled with love, compassion, and unwavering faith.

A native of Springfield, Illinois, Juanita was known for her warm smile and kind heart. She dedicated her life to serving others, whether through her work as a nurse or her involvement in various community organizations. Juanita's selflessness touched the lives of countless individuals, leaving an enduring impact on all who had the privilege of knowing her.


Juanita is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, James Carter, her children, Sarah and David, and her grandchildren, Emily and Jacob. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have been touched by her kindness.


A celebration of Juanita's life will be held on June 2, 2024, at Springfield Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Juanita's memory.


Juanita's legacy of love and compassion will continue to inspire those who knew her for generations to come. She may be gone, but her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to have her in their lives. Rest in peace, Juanita. You will be dearly missed.
