It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Professor Emilio Ramos, a distinguished scholar and beloved mentor, on May 28, 2024. Prof. Ramos, aged 67, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by his family.

Born on March 12, 1957, in Madrid, Spain, Emilio's early passion for knowledge led him to pursue an illustrious academic career. He obtained his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Madrid and later became a prominent figure in the field of quantum mechanics. His groundbreaking research and numerous publications earned him international acclaim and several prestigious awards.


Throughout his career, Prof. Ramos was dedicated to teaching and mentoring. As a professor at the University of Barcelona for over three decades, he inspired countless students with his profound knowledge, enthusiasm, and unwavering support. His colleagues admired him for his collaborative spirit and his contributions to the scientific community.

A memorial service to honor Prof. Ramos's life and legacy will be held on June 10, 2024, at the University of Barcelona's Aula Magna. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Spanish Association Against Cancer, reflecting his long-standing support for cancer research.
