Together, they raised two children, Craig and Michelle, nurturing them with the importance of education and community. Marian's unwavering support and encouragement played an instrumental role in shaping Michelle, who would go on to become the First Lady of the United States.


Marian's quiet strength and wisdom were evident during her time in the White House, where she moved in 2009 to support her daughter Michelle and son-in-law President Barack Obama. Known as "Grandma Marian" to her granddaughters, Malia and Sasha, she provided stability and a sense of normalcy amidst the pressures of political life.
