Daniel Koikai was more than just a father; he was a mentor, a friend, and a beacon of resilience. Born on March 3, 1952, in Nairobi, Kenya, Daniel dedicated his life to uplifting those around him. He was a man of integrity and compassion, traits he imparted to his children, especially his late daughter, Mary Njambi Koikai, who became a celebrated media personality known for her vibrant spirit and unyielding advocacy.


Daniel's journey was marked by his unwavering commitment to education and community service. He worked tirelessly to ensure his children had opportunities to thrive, embodying the principles of hard work and perseverance. His home was always open to friends and neighbors, earning him a reputation as a generous and kind-hearted soul.


The Koikai family faced a significant loss when Mary Njambi Koikai passed away in 2022 after a courageous battle with endometriosis. Daniel's strength during this difficult time was a testament to his enduring faith and love for his family. He became a source of comfort for those grieving Mary’s loss, showing remarkable resilience and grace.


Daniel Koikai’s legacy is one of love, dedication, and service. A funeral service will be held on June 17, 2024, at the All Saints Cathedral in Nairobi, followed by a private burial. The Koikai family appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this challenging time and requests privacy as they mourn their loss.


In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Endometriosis Foundation of Kenya, continuing Mary Njambi Koikai's legacy of advocacy and support for women's health.
