Born on August 14, 1956, in Greenville, South Carolina, Donna Jo was the beloved daughter of the late James and Eileen Carroll. She grew up surrounded by a loving family, and her nurturing spirit was evident from an early age. Donna Jo graduated from Greenville High School, where she was known for her academic excellence and kindness toward others.


Donna Jo dedicated over 30 years of her life to nursing, providing care and comfort to countless patients at Greenville Memorial Hospital. Her colleagues and patients alike admired her for her gentle touch, professional expertise, and the genuine concern she showed to everyone in her care. Donna Jo’s commitment to her profession was a testament to her selfless nature and deep empathy.


Outside of her professional life, Donna Jo was a devoted mother and grandmother. She cherished time spent with her children and grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Donna Jo’s home was always filled with laughter, love, and the aroma of her famous home-cooked meals. Her family fondly remembers her as a beacon of strength and love, always offering support and wisdom.


Donna Jo was also an active member of her church, where she participated in numerous outreach programs and community services. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her.


She is survived by her children, Mark and Sarah Carroll, her grandchildren, Lily and Max, and her siblings, John and Mary Carroll. Donna Jo’s legacy of kindness and service will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.


A celebration of Donna Jo’s life will be held on June 30, 2024, at the Greenville Baptist Church. The family invites all who knew and loved her to join in this tribute. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Greenville Community Outreach Program, in honor of Donna Jo’s lifelong dedication to helping others.


Donna Jo Carroll's life was a testament to the power of love, kindness, and service. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
