 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Fr. John Francis Frederick "Jeff" Manlapig on June 12, 2024. Known affectionately as Fr. Jeff, he passed away peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by the love and prayers of his community.

Fr. Jeff was born on April 10, 1950, in Manila, Philippines. His journey of faith and service began early in life, leading him to join the seminary where he felt a deep calling to serve God and his fellow man. Ordained as a priest in 1975, Fr. Jeff dedicated nearly five decades to his vocation, becoming a beloved figure in the many parishes he served.


Fr. Jeff was known for his unwavering commitment to his parishioners, providing spiritual guidance, comfort, and support to all who sought his counsel. His homilies were renowned for their depth, compassion, and relatability, often leaving a lasting impression on those who heard them. He had a unique ability to connect with people from all walks of life, fostering a sense of community and belonging wherever he went.


Beyond his duties as a priest, Fr. Jeff was actively involved in various charitable activities. A funeral Mass will be held on June 19, 2024, at the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes in Manila, followed by a burial at the Manila Memorial Park. The Manlapig family and the parish community appreciate the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time and request privacy as they mourn their loss.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Catholic Relief Services, an organization Fr. Jeff passionately supported throughout his life.
