Obituary: Keith Fawcett, Respected Civil Engineer and Community Leader (1952-2024)

 It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Keith Fawcett, who left us on June 3, 2024, at the age of 71. Keith's life was a testament to hard work, dedication, and the profound impact one individual can have on their community and loved ones.

 Keith Fawcett, a respected civil engineer and beloved family man, passed away on June 3, 2024, at the age of 71. 

Born on May 20, 1952, Keith spent his early years in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. A graduate of Luzerne High School, he later attended Penn State University, where he earned a degree in Civil Engineering. Keith's professional career spanned several decades, during which he worked on numerous significant projects that contributed to the development and betterment of his community. His colleagues admired him for his expertise, integrity, and unwavering commitment to excellence.


Keith was not only a respected professional but also a beloved family man. He married his high school sweetheart, Linda, in 1974. Together, they built a loving home and raised two children, Jennifer and Michael. Keith's family was the center of his world, and he took immense pride in their accomplishments. He was a devoted husband, a nurturing father, and an adoring grandfather to his three grandchildren.


An avid outdoorsman, Keith enjoyed fishing, hiking, and camping. He often spent weekends exploring the natural beauty of Pennsylvania with his family and friends. His love for nature was matched by his passion for community service. Keith volunteered countless hours with local organizations, particularly those focused on environmental conservation and youth mentorship.


Keith's kindness, generosity, and gentle spirit touched the lives of many. He was known for his warm smile, his willingness to help others, and his ability to make everyone feel valued and respected. His legacy of love and service will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.


Keith is survived by his wife Linda, his children Jennifer and Michael, his grandchildren, his siblings, and a large extended family. He will be dearly missed by his friends, colleagues, and community members.


A memorial service will be held on June 10, 2024, at Luzerne Community Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Keith's name to the Pennsylvania Environmental Council, reflecting his lifelong commitment to preserving the natural world he so cherished.


Keith Fawcett's memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him, and his contributions will continue to benefit future generations.
