Her career began at IBM in the 1960s, where she made groundbreaking contributions to computer architecture. Despite facing significant personal challenges, including transitioning in an era of widespread discrimination, Lynn's determination never wavered.


Lynn's most notable achievement came during her tenure at Xerox PARC in the 1970s. There, she co-authored the seminal textbook *Introduction to VLSI Systems* with Carver Mead, revolutionizing microchip design and significantly influencing modern computing.
