**Michael McIver, Renowned Entrepreneur and Philanthropist, Passes Away at 68**

Michael McIver, a celebrated entrepreneur and dedicated philanthropist, passed away on June 5, 2024, at the age of 68 due to complications from heart disease. His visionary business acumen and profound generosity significantly impacted his community and beyond.

Born on September 14, 1955, in Seattle, Washington, Michael was the son of Anne and Robert McIver. From an early age, he exhibited a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for innovation. He pursued his education at the University of Washington, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration.


In 1980, Michael founded McIver Enterprises, a technology firm that grew into a multi-million-dollar company under his leadership. His forward-thinking approach and dedication to excellence earned him numerous accolades, including the Entrepreneur of the Year award in 1998.


Beyond his business success, Michael was a committed philanthropist. He believed in giving back to the community and supported various charitable causes, including education, healthcare, and the arts. Michael established the McIver Foundation in 2005, which has since provided millions in grants and scholarships to underprivileged students and community projects.


Michael's impact extended beyond his financial contributions. He served on the boards of several non-profit organizations, using his expertise to guide them towards achieving their missions. His commitment to social responsibility and community development was recognized with the Humanitarian of the Year award in 2015.


Michael is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Susan McIver, their two childrenDavid and Emily—and four grandchildren. His family remembers him as a loving husband, devoted father, and doting grandfather whose warmth, wisdom, and generosity touched the lives of many.


A memorial service will be held on June 12, 2024, at the Seattle Unity Church, followed by a celebration of his life at the McIver family residence. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the McIver Foundation to continue Michael’s legacy of giving.


Michael McIver’s legacy of innovation, generosity, and community service will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
