 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sarah Regina Hamrick, a beloved daughter, sister, friend, and colleague. Sarah left this world on June 5, 2024, at the age of 44, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and warmth that touched the lives of all who knew her.

 Sarah Regina Hamrick, a dedicated nurse known for her compassion and kindness, passed away on June 5, 2024, at the age of 44.


Sarah was born on March 12, 1980, in Asheville, North Carolina, to parents James and Emily Hamrick. From a young age, she exhibited a zest for life and a natural inclination towards helping others. After graduating from Asheville High School, Sarah pursued her passion for nursing, earning her degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.


Throughout her career as a registered nurse, Sarah exemplified dedication and empathy in her work. She treated each patient with kindness and respect, providing comfort and support during their times of need. Sarah's colleagues admired her professionalism, her unwavering commitment to patient care, and her ability to remain calm under pressure.


Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sarah was a pillar of strength and support for her family and friends. She had a radiant smile and a contagious laughter that lit up any room she entered. Sarah was known for her generous spirit, her willingness to lend a listening ear, and her unwavering loyalty to those she loved.


In her free time, Sarah enjoyed spending time outdoors, hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains, and exploring the beauty of nature. She was also an avid reader and a talented cook, delighting her loved ones with her delicious meals and culinary creations.


Sarah is survived by her parents, James and Emily Hamrick, her siblings, and a large extended family. She will be deeply missed by her colleagues, friends, and the countless lives she touched through her work as a nurse.


A memorial service will be held on June 10, 2024, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Asheville, North Carolina. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society in Sarah's memory, reflecting her passion for helping others and her commitment to making a difference in the world.


Sarah Regina Hamrick will be remembered for her compassion, her kindness, and her unwavering dedication to serving others. Though she may be gone from our midst, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
