Obituary: In Loving Memory of Sharon Al-Mahdi, Dedicated Educator and Cherished Community Member

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sharon Al-Mahdi, a beloved member of the Dubai community, who departed this world on June 10, 2024, after a courageous battle with cancer. Sharon was 56 years old and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and unwavering love.

Born on March 5, 1968, in Dubai, Sharon grew up in a city that mirrored her vibrant spirit. She was known for her warmth, generosity, and a smile that could light up any room. Sharon's early life was marked by her passion for education, which led her to pursue a degree in education from the University of Dubai. She dedicated over 30 years of her life to teaching, inspiring countless students with her enthusiasm and dedication.


Sharon married her soulmate, Ahmed Al-Mahdi, in 1990. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Aisha and Omar. She was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her family's needs above her own and nurturing a home filled with love and laughter. Her family was the cornerstone of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.


In addition to her family and career, Sharon was deeply involved in community service. She volunteered with several local charities and was known for her efforts to support underprivileged children and advocate for educational opportunities for all. Her philanthropic spirit was a beacon of hope for many, and her contributions have left an indelible mark on the community.


Sharon's passing leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Ahmed, her children Aisha and Omar, her sister Leila, and her brother Karim. Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched and the love she spread throughout her lifetime.


A memorial service will be held at the Jumeirah Mosque on June 15, 2024, at 4 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Dubai Education Fund, an organization close to Sharon's heart.


Sharon Al-Mahdi will be remembered for her unwavering kindness, her dedication to education, and her boundless love for her family and community. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
